I began drawing and painting as an adult. See, I am a twin. Twin to a very outgoing, talented poet and spoken word performer. When we were very young we got our labels. She was the creative one. And I was the smart one. We grew up thinking that our labels were mutually exclusive. This was reinforced over and over. She would always get art supplies and I got books. It was not until I turned 30 that I simply bought a box or colored pencils and started drawing. I’m teaching myself every day and continue to learn and grow. I never knew what I could do. Neither do you. Try something new! If you’re not growing, you’re dying.
